Watercolour Whispers: My Journey from Scribbles to Owning The Ceramic Hub

Greetings, fellow art amigos! I’m Corinne, and I’m thrilled to share with you the tale of how a single brushstroke on a ceramic tile at Scribbles in Newmarket, UK ignited my passion for pottery and led me eventually to establish The Ceramic Hub.

It all began with that fateful visit to Scribbles, where I dipped my brush into pastel underglazes hoping for a watercolours effect and watched as they danced effortlessly across the surface of the bique fired tile. The allure of the watercolour effect was undeniable once the tile was fired, and in that moment, I knew that pottery held the key to unlocking my creative potential.

Driven by a newfound passion, I got completely geared up, embarked on a journey of self-discovery and exploration, teaching myself the art of pottery from the ground up. My husband was helping a great deal in sourcing the best products and tools. With each piece I created, from planters to vases and decorative items, I honed my skills, drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature and the world around me.

As my love for pottery grew, so too did my desire to share it with others. That’s when the idea for The Ceramic Hub was born—a creative haven where aspiring potters could come together to learn, create, and connect.

Founded on the principles of community, collaboration, and creativity, The Ceramic Hub quickly became a place where artists of all skill levels could find inspiration and support. From beginner’s classes to advanced workshops, we offer a wide range of programs designed to nurture and cultivate the talents of our members.

But perhaps the most rewarding aspect of owning The Ceramic Hub is seeing the joy and fulfilment that pottery brings to others. Whether it’s a first-time potter discovering the magic of the wheel or a seasoned artist finding new inspiration in the clay, each success story is a testament to the power of creativity and the transformative nature of art.

So here’s to embracing our passions, chasing our dreams, and allowing the whispers of watercolour to guide us on our journey. Whether you’re painting a tile like I did or shaping clay at The Ceramic Hub, may your creative spirit continue to sing and your artistic vision shine brightly for all to see.

Thank you for joining me on this extraordinary adventure, and may your hands always be full of clay and your heart full of inspiration.

Warm regards, Corinne, Founder of The Ceramic Hub
