Weekly Classes

In this 12 weeks weekly classes, you will learn or brush up your hand-building techniques whilst having fun creating beautiful ceramics.

At The Ceramic Hub, we welcome all abilities to join our weekly pottery classes.

We run 12 weeks classes, 3 times a year.

Our classes are a great way to learn a new skill if you have never touched clay to create and a wonderful experience to repeat if you are an intermediate or advanced potter.

If you are an absolute beginner, we will offer you to do a few projects to teach you the basics of hand building. There are no special requirements to attend our classes apart from owning your own pottery tools, bring your own hand towel and a clean apron. Otherwise, all is included in the price: the clay, the tuition, the coloured glazes and all firings.

Every week, one of our potters will demonstrate a new technique or give a talk about something related to pottery making. This will be interesting for our beginners and our more advanced potters.

Please make sure that before you book, you can attend all the classes as they are non-exchangeable nor refundable. If you know before the term starts that you will not be able to make a session, please let us know, we will amend your fee (available for one session only).

We ask all of you to own your tools. We can lend some from time to time but we would appreciate if you brought your own.

If you wish to take clay at home to make extra treasures, weight the clay that you take home and please transfer £5 per kilo. Depending on how many items you make, we might ask you a little extra to pay for the bisque firing. Extra will definitely be charged for the glazing as the products we choose are the best glazes for the best results, so basically, they are very expensive colours. If you only use the products as part of the class, they will be no extras. If you want to use gold or platinum, we will invite you to give a donation to buy more gold and platinum.

Only for Ely College, we can offer doctors, nurses and people who have jobs where they are on call, to have a pay-as-you go option. This is also available if you want to only give clay a go for one or two sessions. We might not always be able to accommodate everyone but we will consider new potters who wish to meet everyone before committing to a full term. Pay as you go 1 session @ £50 – Check availability first by contacting corinne@theceramichub.co.uk
