Pottery Classes

We are happy to run Pottery Classes every week!

Our Tuesday Classes at Ely College are run from 6.10pm – 8.10pm every week following the school term. We’ll start again in September 2022.

Our Friday classes in Wicken are run from 1pm – 4pm every week. We’ll start again on Friday 6th May.

Our Sunday classes in Wicken are run from 2pm – 4pm and from 4pm – 6pm every week. You are welcome to join both Sunday classes. We’ll start again on Sunday 8th May.

Please contact us if you are interested to join just to check availability and fill in ENROLMENT FORM 2022 and read our Terms and Conditions The Ceramic Hub. Prices for the term are included in the Enrolment form.

All our classes are fun, packed with pottery tips, great methods of learning, and laughter. We put everything in place for all our potters to achieve the results they want to achieve. Every week, we offer a new project which will introduce either a new technique or a technique to re-use in a different manner. We are flexible in regards to the projects we organise for the classes because if you wish to work on your own projects, it is also a possibility. We welcome new ideas, and new concepts; so please, do feel free to get in touch and let us know what you would like to make!

We have a large range of colours of underglazes if you wish to work with earthenware clay. This choice of working with clay is good if you do not like surprises and you wish to have a pot, a sculpture, or a dish with colours that will stay exactly as you painted them. You can illustrate but also, you can be sure that red will stay red, blue will stay blue, and so on.

Depending on the projects, we work either with earthenware clay or stoneware clay. Both are great to work with.

We have pottery wheels available at Ely College and at our workshop in Wicken. There will be no formal teaching on the wheel this term so, we highly recommend that you take private classes with us to get your basics of throwing right. Be sure to understand the simple steps to create a pot successfully on a wheel, it will be very satisfying to get it right, you’ll see!

Before you join a class, if you want to see if pottery is for you, we highly recommend our Ceramic Experiences.
